As part of our commitment to keeping parent carers informed, we are sharing the latest updates from the Local Area Partnership. These updates focus on both the progress made and the ongoing challenges within SEND services, while also providing opportunities for families to share their feedback.
Please note: As part of the Local Area Partnership, Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum plays a vital role in amplifying the views and experiences of SEND families across the county. While we actively engage in discussions, provide feedback, and advocate for improvements in SEND services, it’s important to note that we do not have the authority or power to make decisions or implement changes. Our role is to ensure that the voices of SEND families are heard and to work collaboratively with service leaders to drive positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND in Oxfordshire
Progress Report Infographic
The Local Area Partnership has published a progress report infographic summarising key statistics and updates about SEND services. You can find this infographic below and also via the SEND Improvement Page
Steve’s December Blog
Steve Crocker, Independent Chair of the SEND Strategic Improvement and Assurance Board (SIAB), has published his December blog. This update reflects on progress, challenges, and actions being taken to improve SEND services.
Read it here: Steve’s December Blog.
Parent Carer Survey
The parent carer survey has also been published on Let’s Talk Oxfordshire. This survey was an opportunity for families to share their experiences and feedback on SEND services. It includes the context discussed during November’s SIAB meeting and referenced in Steve’s November Blog. We encourage all parent carers to take part in the survey and help shape the future of SEND support.
Glossary of SEND Terms
To support families in navigating the often complex terminology, a Glossary of SEND Terms was published before Christmas. This resource aims to make SEND terminology more accessible and understandable for everyone.
