CAMHS NDC: Understanding Anxiety: Insights for Neurodivergent Children and Young People

We’re pleased to share insights from our recent webinar, “Understanding Anxiety: Insights for Neurodivergent Children and Young People”. This session was created to help parent carers better understand anxiety, especially how it presents and impacts children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences.

Hosted in collaboration between the Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum and the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Pathway Team, this online session featured Laura Mackenzie (Nursing and Allied Health Professional Clinical Lead) and Tracy Oliver-Browne (Clinical Team Manager, CAMHS NDC). They offered valuable perspectives on recognising anxiety, understanding its roots, and how it uniquely affects neurodivergent individuals.

Key topics included:

    •    Recognising the signs of anxiety in neurodivergent children and young people

    •    Insights into the unique triggers and challenges faced by children with anxiety

    •    Understanding the connection between anxiety and neurodivergent conditions

    •    Guidance on accessing further resources and support for families
